GAME GUIDE

Ashoka guide

Ashoka starts with a board that can grow

Ashoka is an ELK Studios scatter-pay slot built on six reels. The base game combines changing reel space with Wild symbols that can appear in several sizes, so the amount of active Wild coverage is not fixed from one state to the next.

The larger Wild formats matter because a 2x2 or 3x3 Wild occupies several positions at once. On a scatter-pay game, that can change how much of the visible board is supported by Wild substitution without requiring a conventional payline path.

The grid can also expand. This gives Ashoka two visible forms of progression before the bonus becomes important: the board can provide more active space, and the amount of Wild coverage can change inside that space.

Multiplier symbols change the value state

Ashoka uses a Win Multiplier that is activated and increased by Multiplier symbols when winning combinations are in view.

That gives the game a second form of progression beside board size. One mechanic changes the amount of active reel space, while the multiplier changes the value state attached to qualifying wins.

ELK also lists a Super Multiplier. Its defining behaviour is tied to avalanche-style continuation: the Super Multiplier can reactivate for each avalanche. That connection makes the multiplier system easier to understand because it is linked to the same repeated board activity that can keep a round moving.

The result is a game where the visible grid and the multiplier can develop together. A later avalanche can therefore arrive under a different board and multiplier state from the opening result.

Charged Wilds introduce short-term persistence

Wild symbols can appear as 1x1, 2x2 and 3x3 blocks. ELK also describes Charged Wilds that can last for up to three wins.

This gives the Wild system memory. A normal Wild can matter for one evaluated result, while a Charged Wild can remain relevant across more than one winning state.

That persistence is useful to separate from the progressive multiplier. The Wild system controls how much of the board is covered and how long certain Wild positions survive. The multiplier system controls the value attached to winning combinations.

When both are active, the board can preserve useful Wild space while the multiplier continues to develop through winning activity.

Bonus and Super Bonus extend the same mechanics

Three active Bonus symbols anywhere on the main grid trigger the Free Drop Bonus Game. ELK confirms that the feature can retrigger.

The bonus does not discard the mechanics introduced in ordinary play. Large Wilds, multiplier progression and changing grid states remain the language of the game, but the feature gives those elements a longer sequence in which to interact.

The Super Bonus is the more advanced version of that structure. ELK links its X-iter route to a guaranteed Super Multiplier, which confirms that the higher feature state is still built around the same multiplier system, not an unrelated mini-game.

That continuity is one of Ashoka's stronger design choices. The base game teaches the important pieces, and the later states give those pieces more room to overlap.

A useful way to read Ashoka in free play

Start by separating board growth from multiplier growth.

When the grid expands, note how much more active space appears. When a Multiplier symbol contributes, follow the Win Multiplier as a separate state. If a Super Multiplier appears during an avalanche sequence, check how its reactivation relates to the continuing board changes.

Charged Wilds are the third state to watch. A Wild that survives across wins is doing something different from a larger one-off Wild, even if both occupy several positions.

Once those three systems are clear, the bonus becomes easier to follow because it is not introducing a completely new ruleset. It is extending the same board, Wild and multiplier relationships over Free Drops.

Reading Ashoka next to Dreamzone

Dreamzone is a useful ELK neighbour because both titles develop through repeated board changes, but they create momentum in different ways.

Dreamzone stores Dream Features such as Wild, Symbol Explode, Symbol Upgrade and Symbol Scatter, then releases them when a later drop fails to produce a win. Its Free Drops can also develop a multiplier as the board is cleared.

Ashoka keeps more of its progression visible in the current state. The grid can expand, Wilds can occupy larger areas, Charged Wilds can persist, and Multiplier or Super Multiplier behaviour develops alongside avalanche activity.

The real contrast is delayed feature release versus persistent board state. Dreamzone can bank tools for a later rescue. Ashoka changes the space, Wild coverage and multiplier that are already active on the screen.
