Buffalo Toro starts with movement, not a static Wild
Buffalo Toro uses six reels and four rows. Toro is a Walking Wild, which means his position can change while the feature generates respins.
That gives the Wild a continuing role. A normal Wild is evaluated at one position for one result. Toro can remain part of a sequence as he moves leftwards and creates another reel state.
During Toro Goes Wild, he can also leave Wild symbols behind after defeating Matadors. The movement therefore changes both where Toro is now and what remains on the board after he has passed through a position. This is the mechanic to understand before adding the multiplier and upgrade systems.
Matador Respins can hand the sequence over to Toro
Two or more Matador symbols trigger the Matador Respin. That feature creates its own short continuation state. If Toro lands during it, the game moves directly into Toro Goes Wild.
This connection stops the Matador feature from feeling like an isolated respin. It can become the setup for the Walking Wild sequence.
The player can move from fixed Matador activity into a feature where Toro starts travelling across the reels and leaving Wild influence behind. That cause-and-effect relationship is more useful than treating Matador Respin and Toro Goes Wild as two names in a feature list.
Multiplier Wilds change value without changing the movement rule
Buffalo Toro also includes Multiplier Wild symbols. ELK lists multiplier values of 2x or 3x when the Multiplier Wild contributes to a win. This changes the value of the qualifying result, but it does not replace Toro's Walking Wild behaviour.
Keeping those roles separate makes the game easier to read. Toro controls movement and respin continuity. Multiplier Wilds add a value effect. Matador symbols can trigger a respin route that may lead into Toro Goes Wild.
The systems can overlap on the same reel set, but each has a different job. It makes a busy reel state easier to parse: movement comes from Toro, multiplier value comes from the Multiplier Wild, and the Matadors are the short trigger route that can connect the two.
Gold Buffalo collections change the symbol hierarchy
Three or more Bonus symbols trigger Free Spins. Inside the bonus, collecting Gold Buffalo symbols upgrades high-value symbols to Buffalo symbols. This adds a progression system that changes the quality of the visible symbol set as the feature develops.
The Super Bonus has a separate trigger: one Super Bonus symbol together with two or more Bonus symbols. In that state, Gold Buffalo collections continue to upgrade high-value symbols, but the feature also activates Rampage Reels with stacked Buffalo symbols.
That makes the Super Bonus a larger version of the same upgrade idea. The collection mechanic remains relevant while the reels gain an additional stacked-symbol state.
The upgrade process is especially useful for understanding the difference between the normal Bonus and Super Bonus. Both keep the Gold Buffalo collection central; the Super Bonus adds a denser reel state, not replacing the collection rule.
How to follow the feature in free play
Start with Toro's movement.
When a Walking Wild appears, follow him across the respins and look at what remains behind. If Wild positions are left after Toro moves, the board has changed in a way that can affect the next result.
Then compare a Matador Respin. The key question is whether Toro appears and converts that short respin sequence into Toro Goes Wild.
During Free Spins, shift attention to the Gold Buffalo collection. The clearest progression is the change in the high-value symbols as they are upgraded.
If the Super Bonus appears, compare the reel composition with the normal bonus and look for the stacked Buffalo state created by Rampage Reels. A helpful distinction is not simply that the Super Bonus is larger; it adds another reel-state change to the same upgrade engine.
A useful contrast: Buffalo Toro and Book of Toro
Book of Toro uses the same Toro character but gives his movement a different mechanical job. In Book of Toro, Toro Goes Wild interacts with Book symbols that remain sticky while Toro is in view. The Free Spins bonus also selects expansion symbols, and retriggers can add another expansion symbol.
Buffalo Toro removes the Book framework and builds more of its feature depth around upgrades. Gold Buffalo collections change the higher-value symbol set, while the Super Bonus adds Rampage Reels.
Both titles use Walking Wild movement and short respin states, but the progress they preserve is different. Book of Toro preserves Book and expansion-symbol potential. Buffalo Toro develops symbol upgrades and larger Buffalo-heavy reel states.
